A romantic summer on the Isle of Ushant
Filmed during the festival “Women Musicians’ Encounters at Ushant”, The Chant of the Isle of Women is a pure musical moment drawn from the romantic repertoire (Clara and Robert Schumann, Brahms, Kreisler) performed by the Psophos Quartet, violinist Irina Muresanu and pianists Dana Ciocarlie and Lydia Jardon. All of this in the gentle yet violent setting of the “Isle of Women” (L’Ile aux Femmes), which is the legendary name of the Isle of Ushant, a French island off the coast of Brittany…
Could there be a more compelling place for the romantic spirit – the feminine spirit by definition since it is that of inner expectation- to find a setting for its boundless quest?
