Fashions – The Gingham Dress by Jacques Estérel

In 1959, Brigitte Bardot wore a pink gingham dress at her wedding. No veil, no satin, just a simple little dress in an inexpensive cotton. BB defied both the star system and convention. This film explores the unexpected cultural reasons that contributed to the rise of gingham and the designer, Jacques Estérel, and making the gingham dress an “essential in the fashion world.
