SHAPES OF THE INVISIBLE HITS JAPAN

The « Shapes of the Invisible DVD » was released in Japan on February 25 under the title « MICROSCAPE ». This edition was produced specifically for the Japanese market and includes an exclusive music audio track as an extra. Viewers can either select the commentary or choose among 22 sequences of electronic music to accompany the microscopic pictures that made the film famous.

 

These musical sequences were provided by Uplink, Ideale Audience International’s production partner on this edition. The Japanese bands whose music is featured are Me-Mi, Pola, Soshi, Tsuborunu, Mushi Music, Weekend Backpack, Veno Tagashi, Woodman, Illreme, Dot, Namba Kazumi, Moosehill, Lounge_rec, Miroque, Astro Twin, Uuni, Suzueri,Bacayoko, Soundworm, Adam, F.L.Y., Comcom. This DVD release is presented to the Japanese public through several special displays in Tokyo shops, such as the one pictured here, at the big Tower Records in Shibuya.

 

Uplink was founded in Tokyo in 1987 by Takashi Asai. The company’s video catalogue now includes more than 200 titles including many French films. In addition to DVD publishing, the company is also very active as an independent film distributor in Japan who operates two theaters in Tokyo. Uplink plans to open a restaurant next to one of them in the coming months.
