The Verbier Festival is arguably one of the most prestigious classical music events in the world. The quality of the participating artists as well as the originality of the programmes has established the festival as a culminating point in the music season.
For its 14th edition, the Verbier Festival will once again gather together the most prestigious artists in classical music:
Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Joshua Bell, Renaud Capuçon, Sarah Chang, Sir Andrew Davis, Renée Fleming, Nelson Freire, Nelson Goerner, Hélène Grimaud, Hilary Hahn, Janine Jansen, Jerusalem Quartet, Leonidas Kavakos, Evgeny Kissin, Katia et Marielle Labèque, Lang Lang, James Levine, Micha Maisky, Zubin Mehta, Gabriella Montero, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Thomas Quasthoff, René Pape, Mikhail Pletnev, Julian Rachlin, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Heinrich Schiff, Rodion Shchedrin, Lars Vogt, Anne Sophie Von Otter, UBS Verbier Festival orchestra…
For the first time, Medici Arts and the Verbier Festival will be giving a new dimension to this event by allowing internet users throughout the world to have free access to:
- Live webcast concerts
- Delayed webcast concerts
- Daily backstage coverage of the festival (rehearsals, interviews…)
Every evening, a concert will also be available on www.arte.tv
Each concert will be filmed in high definition and will be accessible in optimal conditions: full screen image and high resolution sound quality.
In order to secure maximum discretion for the musicians and the audience, both halls – salle Médran and the Eglise de Verbier – will be equipped with remote-controlled cameras thus keeping camera operators away from the stage.
Produced by Idéale Audience, the filming of the concerts will be directed by Philippe Béziat, François-René Martin and Dominique Pernoo.
