As 2005 marks the 30th anniversary of the death of Dmitri Shostakovich, Ideale Audience is finally announcing an october 2005 DVD release for the Semyon Aranovitch and Alexander Sokourov directed Viola Sonata. This extraordinary document, which was censored by communist russian authorities until 1986, will be presented for the first time on DVD in an brand new restored version. The state of the art restoration was supervised by Alexander Sokourov himself at Bereg Productions' studios.
Ideale Audience will also celebrate acclaimed contemporary composer Arvo Pärt's 70th birthday with a september 2005 DVD release of Arvo Pärt, 24 Preludes For A Fugue. Directed by Russian filmaker Dorian Supin, the film was 5 years in the making, during which the director followed the steps of the Estonian composer. A rare musical and emotional document.
